Baingan ki Gravy – Ingredients, Method of cooking

Baingan ki gravy is very easy and awesome recipe. It tastes delicious. It takes little time to prepare and goes well with Indian bread. The taste of sesame seeds and the peanuts, which are roasted and then powdered, gives a different flavor to the gravy.

Ingredients for making Baingan ki gravy

  • 5-6 small Brinjal (Baingan)
  • 3 roughly chopped Onions
  • 3 roughly chopped Tomatoes
  • 1 Green chilli
  • 4 cloves Garlic (lahusan)
  • 1/2 inch Ginger piece (Adhrakh)
  • 2 tablespoon Peanut (Groundnut)
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds (Tal)
  • 2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander (Dhania) powder
  • 2 tablespoon Kitchen king masala
  • 1/2 tablespoon Garam masala
  • Salt as per taste
  • a pinch of Sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoon Oil

Method of making Baingan ki gravy

  • Make a cut of plus sign (criss-cross) at the base of each brinjal.
  • Now fry them in 3-4 tablespoon of oil, till they are well done.
  • Grind the onions with green chilli, garlic and ginger.
  • Also grind the tomatoes.
  • Roast the peanuts and sesame seeds, and grind to a fine powder.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add the onion paste. Fry till golden brown.
  • Then add the red chilli powder, coriander powder, kitchen king masala and garam masala.
  • Fry for 2-3 minutes and then add the tomato paste.
  • Fry, till it comes to boil.
  • Add the brinjals and add the salt.
  • Add sugar and fry for 5-8 minutes.
  • Baingan ki gravy is ready to serve.
