Capsicum belongs to the family of “Solanaceae”. It is also known as bell pepper, jalapeno and chilli. It has become a key element in many regional cuisines. The capsicum without capsaicin is the bell pepper. Lack of capsaicin in bell pepper is due to a recessive gene, which eliminates capsaicin.
