Gobi Manchurian | Cauliflower Manchurian – Recipe, Ingredients and Cooking Method

Manchurian is a food item available mostly in the Indian and Chinese restaurants, and taken prior to the main course of the food, as one of the snack items, and is available with / without the gravy. Following is the recipe of the Gobi Manchurian.

Ingredients for making Manchuria

  • 14 pieces of Cauliflower cut into florets (par-boiled)
  • 3 tablespoon Maida
  • 3 tablespoon Corn flour
  • Salt as per taste

Method of making Gobi Manchurian

  • Take a bowl. Add maida, corn flour and salt with some water forming a thin coat. Mix well, clearing the lumps.
  • Now as the batter is ready, deep fry each piece of cauliflower dipping in this batter, till golden brown colour.

Ingredients for Manchurian Sauce

  • 1/2 tsp finely chopped Ginger
  • 1/2 tsp finely chopped Garlic
  • 3 finely chopped Green chillies
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1/4 teaspoon Aginomoto
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon White Pepper Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Red Chilli Sauce
  • 2-3 drops of Black Soya sauce

Method of making Manchuria sauce

  1. Heat 3tbsp of oil in a wok (pan).
  2. Add finely chopped ginger and garlic. Saute it for sometime.
  3. Now add the chopped green chillies.
  4. Add 1 cup of water and when it gets boiled, add aginomotto, salt, white pepper powder and sugar.
  5. Now it’s time to add the sauces i.e red chilli sauce and black soya sauce.
  6. Add the fried cauliflower and stir it continuously till its water becomes 1/2cup.


  • The Manchurian should be served hot always.
  • Garnish with chopped spring onion.
