Jal Frazy Recipe – Ingredients and Cooking Method

Jal Frazy is one of the type of spicy curry. It is usually taken with parathas (it can be of any type) and also with rice. It is made using vegetables, paneer and cream which gives a different taste. It is one of the healthy curries, as it is being prepared with milk, cream and vegetables which are all beneficial for better development and growth of children and healthy lifestyle of the adults.

Also spelled as Jhal frezi, Zalfrezi and Jalfrezi.


Ingredients for making Jal Frazy

  • 1 cup Sliced Carrot
  • 1 cup Sliced Cabbage
  • 1 cup Sliced Beans
  • 1 big Sliced Onion
  • 1 cup Sliced capsicum
  • 2 Chopped Tomatoes
  • 3-4 tbsp Cream
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 slitted Green chilli
  • Salt as per taste
  • Pinch of Sugar
  • 3/4 tbsp Garam masala
  • 200gms Sliced Paneer
  • 1 tbsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 tbsp Dhania powder

Method of making Jal Frazy

  • Boil the vegetables carrot, cabbage and beans. After they get boiled, wash them with cool water.
  • Take a pan. Add oil to it. Firstly fry capsicum ( don’t make it too soft ) and keep aside.
  • Now add green chillies to the same oil in which we have fried capsicum.
  • Half a minute later add sliced onion. When onion turns to golden brown add little sugar( pinch). Add salt as per taste. After a little while add cream and mix well.
  • Now its time to add the masalas which gives the real taste of the curry.
  • Add Garam masala, Dhania powder, Red chilli powder and salt as per taste.
  • Add the finely chopped tomatoes. Saute it for nearly 5 minutes.
  • Add the boiled vegetables and mix thoroughly.
  • Now add (1cup) milk and boil it till it becomes half(it means the 1cup milk should reduce to half cup).
  • Finally add sliced paneer and fried capsicum.
  • JAL FRAZY is ready to serve.

SERVE with Paratha (any) or Rice.

Garnish with cream and coriander leaves.
