Paneer Butter Masala Recipe – Ingredients, Method of Cooking

Paneer Butter Masala is the recipe which is loved by everyone, children and adults. It is a North Indian dish, but is loved and familiar all over India. Paneer is a main ingredient in this dish, and it doesn’t hold the same amount of spices which most of the other Paneer curries do, thus is a favorite among children too as a choice along with the Naan or Roti. You won’t need to roam around searching for the ingredients, as there’s nothing uncommon in it and everything that is included is the basic kitchen items that are easily available. Paneer Butter Masala

Paneer Butter Masala Recipe – Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup chopped Onions
  • 3 cups Paneer (Cottage Cheese) cut into long strips
  • 1 teaspoon Kasuri Methi (Dried Fenugreek leaves)
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • 2 cups Tomato puree
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder (Jeera)
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Cream
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • Salt as per taste

For grounding into a smooth paste

  • 1 cup chopped Onion
  • 6-7 cloves Garlic
  • 1″ Ginger piece
  • 2 tablespoon broken Cashewnuts

Paneer Butter Masala – Method of Preparation

  • Take a pan. Heat oil, add the ground paste and cook till its colour changes to light brown.
  • Now add red chilli powder and tomato puree and  cook for sometime.
  • Add cumin powder, Garam masala and some water (1/2 cup) and cook for few minutes till the oil separates from the masala.
  • Keep aside.
  • Take another pan, melt the butter. Add kasuri methi, onions and cook till the onions get light brown colour.
  • Now add this to the tomato gravy, along with honey, milk, cream, paneer and salt. Boil for sometime and serve hot.

To be served with

Paneer Butter Masala can be served with roti or parathas.
