Paneer Masala Recipe – Ingredients, Method of Cooking

Paneer Masala is the recipe usually liked by everyone. To make this dish more healthier, instead of frying the paneer, we can even bake it. We would think, Paneer Masala ia same as Paneer Butter Masala. But, this is wrong. It is totally different and the taste also differs.

Paneer Masala

Ingredients for making Paneer Masala

  • 2 cups Paneer (Cottage Cheese)
  • 3/4 cup chopped Tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup Cream (Fresh)
  • 1 teaspoon Chilli Sauce
  • 3 tablespoon Oil
  • Salt as per taste
  • Oil For Deep Frying

To be ground to a fine paste

  • 3/4 cup chopped Onions
  • 1 tablespoon grated Fresh Coconut
  • 1 tablespoon Poppy seeds (Khus-Khus)
  • 2 Cloves (Laung/Lavang)
  • 2 Cinnamon sticks (Dalchini)
  • 10 Black Peppercorns
  • 6 dry red Kashmiri Chillies
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Cumin (Jeera) seeds
  • 3 teaspoon Coriander (Dhania)seeds
  • 5 cloves Garlic (Lahusan/Lasan)
  • 1 inch Ginger piece (Adhrakh)

Method for making Paneer Masala

  • Cut the paneer into long pieces. Now, deep fry paneer in a hot oil.
  • Remove, drain on an absorbent paper and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add the paste and fry for sometime.
  • Then add the tomatoes and saute for few more minutes.
  • Add the paneer, cream, chilli sauce and salt.
  • Add nearly 1 cup water and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Paneer Masala is ready to serve.

How to serve

  • Serve with Parathas or any type of Indian bread like naan, kulcha.
