Paneer Tikka (Pahadi) – Ingredients, Method of Cooking

Pahadi Paneer tika is very spicy and tangy. It is a snack, generally enjoyed with tea or coffee. It is sure to be liked by children. The cold weather changes your mind to eat something hot and this is the perfect snack for it. Enjoy the cold weather and rain with hot Paneer Tikas.

Ingredients for making Paneer Tikka

For preparing Tika

  • 2 cup Paneer (Cottage cheese) cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 1 cup Onion cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 2 cup Tomatoes cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 1 cup Capsicum cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoon fresh Curd (Dahi)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh Cream
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • Salt as per taste

For grounding into a green marinade

  • 1/2 cup chopped Coriander (Kothmir)
  • 1 cup chopped Mint leaves (Pudina)
  • 4 Green chillies
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds (Jeera)
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • Salt as per taste

Method for making Paneer Tikka

For making Tika

  • Apply half of the green marinade on the paneer, onions, tomatoes and capsicum. Now, arrange them one by one on the skewers.
  • Now there are various ways of cooking. You can either use oven by using grill option or use the griddle or even use barbecue for cooking.
  • Here, we are using barbecue. So, cook on barbecue for few minutes. When the edges turn golden brown, remove from the skewer and keep aside.

For making gravy

  • Heat oil in a pan. Add the remaining half of the marinade. Fry for few minutes.
  • Add the cream, curd and salt to the marinade and saute for a while.
  • Keep aside after sauteing for sometime.

How to serve

  • Arrange the tikas on a serving plate.
  • Pour the gravy on the tikas and serve hot immediately.
