Vegetable Dragon Rolls – Ingredients, Method of cooking

Vegetable Dragon Rolls are very pretty and delicious. This recipe is very simple and similar as spring roll. For making dragon rolls, firstly we should make the pan cakes and then stuff the masala of dragon rolls in it and deep fry. The stuffing includes the vegetables and seasoning.

Ingredients for making Vegetable Dragon rolls

  • 3-4 Pan cakes
  • 2 medium sized boiled and grated Potatoes
  • 1 medium sized finely chopped Carrot par boiled
  • 3 finely chopped French Beans par boiled
  • 1/2 teaspoon butter
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ajinomoto
  • 1/4 teaspoon White Pepper Powder
  • 1 pinch Sugar

Optional :- Grated Paneer and Cashewnut

Ingredients for Pan cake

  • 3 tablespoon Maida
  • 3 tablespoon Cornflour
  • Salt as per taste
  • Pepper powder

Method for making pan cake

  • Combine maida, cornflour and little water in a bowl, making a thick batter, clearing lumps. Beat this batter very nicely.
  • Heat a wok.
  • Apply oil on four sides of wok, then with cloth remove excess oil from wok.
  • Pour some batter into the pan and turn the wok round, so as the batter stick towards the whole wok forming a thin layer.
  • When the sides begin to peel, remove slowly and keep in a plate (The plate which is sprinkled with cornflour).
  • Now sprinkle the cornflour even on the pan cake.
  • Repeat this process to every pan cake.

Method for making Vegetable Dragon Rolls

  • Combine the potatoes, carrot, french beans, butter, salt, ajinomoto, white pepper powder and sugar in a bowl.
  • Place a pan cake on a flat surface.
  • Stuff the masala on one of the edge of the pan cake.
  • Roll the pan cake by applying the flour paste (maida and cornflour) along the edges of the pan cake.
  • Repeat this process for stuffing the remaining pan cakes.
  • Deep fry these rolls in oil, till they turn light brown color.
  • Cut each roll into half (crossly).
  • Serve these rolls with Tomato Sauce, Garlic Chutney or Green Chilli Sauce.
