Diya aur bati Sweet – Ingredients, Method

Diya aur bati is a sweet specially made for diwali festival. The name itself gives the idea that it is resembles the diya. It is very unique and lovely recipe which you will definitely love and its shape will attract you to try once for this diwali. We have used khoya, coconut powder and cocoa powder for making diya. For filling these diya we have used the khoya and rose water. Almonds are used for the flames.

Ingredients for making Diya aur bati sweet

  • 1 cup Khoya (Mawa)
  • 1 cup Coconut Powder
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 3 tablespoon Cocoa Powder
  • a few drops of Lemon Yellow food Color
  • a few drops of Rose water
  • 8 Almonds
  • Silver warq

Method for making Diya aur Bati sweet

  • Take a pan. Add khoya and cook for 3-4 minutes till it turns to light pink color.
  • Now add coconut powder, sugar and mix well.
  • Put off the gas and add the cocoa powder.
  • Make a smooth dough from this mixture and keep in mind that if the mixture is too dry, add some milk and if its too wet add little coconut powder.
  • Take 2 tablespoon of khoya in a bowl and add the lemon yellow colour and rose water. Mix well and smoothen it.
  • Now make the cocoa mixture into diya shapes.
  • Fill these diya with the khoya mixture and use almonds as a flame.
  • Decorate well with the silver warq.
  • Special Diya aur bati sweet is ready to serve.
