Garam Masala

Garam Masala is a mix of all the spices. Here, the spices are roasted one by one and then blend to a fine powder. Home made garam masala gives an awesome taste to the recipe than the ready-made one.

Ingredients for making Garam Masala

  • 50 grams Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • 25 grams Black Pepper
  • 100 grams Coriander (Dhania) seeds
  • 50 grams Fennel Seeds (Saunf)
  • 25 grams Cardamom (Ellaichi)
  • 50 grams Cloves (Lavang/Laung)
  • 50 grams Cinnamon (Dalchini)
  • 50 grams Bay leaves (Tej patta)
  • 40 grams Dagad phool
  • 25 grams Mace (javitri)
  • 50 grams Nutmeg (Jaiphal)
  • 50 grams Green Cardamom (Green Elaichi)

Method for making Garam Masala

  • Take a pan and roast all the ingredients individually, one by one (without oil).
  • Now mix all the ingredients together and grind to a fine powder.
  • Fresh Garam masala is ready to use.
