Lifafa Paratha Recipe – Ingredients, Method of Cooking

Lifafa Paratha is the paratha, which is in an envelope shape. Here, in this paratha, the stuffing is stuffed in the paratha, and then fried on tawa (griddle). It is very tasty.

Ingredients for making Lifafa Parathalifafa paratha

For the Parathas

  • 2 cups Plain Flour (Maida)
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Melted Ghee

For the filling

  • 2 cups grated Paneer (Cottage Cheese)
  • 1/2 cup chopped Mint Leaves (Pudina)
  • 1 cup chopped Coriander (Dhania) leaves
  • 1/4 cup sliced Onion
  • 3 chopped Green Chillies
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • Salt as per taste

Method for making Lifafa Paratha

For the Parathas

  • Take a bowl. Add plain flour, milk, salt and ghee.
  • Now, make a soft dough using little water if required.
  • Then, take a portion of dough and roll out to a small thin paratha.
  • Cook on a tawa (griddle) till it is well cooked on both the sides (brown spots appear).

For the filling

  • Combine the mint, coriander, onions, green chillies, lemon juice, sugar and salt.
  • Now grind to a smooth paste by adding little water forming a green chutney.
  • Mix the green chutney and paneer together.
  • Keep a portion of filling in the centre of each paratha and close it like an envelope.
  • Cook on tawa (griddle) with butter, on both sides until golden brown.
  • Repeat the same process for the remaining parathas.


  • As the name of the paratha is lifafa paratha, we are making the paratha of lifafa shape.
  • But if you feel tough or do not like the shape, you can also make any different shape of the paratha.
  • This will only change the shape, but not the taste of the paratha.
