Mysore Bhajji Recipe – Ingredients, Method of Cooking

Mysore Bhajji is also be known as Mysore Bonda. It is one of the South Indian style fritters. It is a very famous snack from traditional Mysore cuisine. Mysore Bhaji is also easy to prepare and tastes yummy. Here, we have used a couple of flours to prepare. One is maida and the other rice flour. These are really delicious and if prepared once you will definitely love to cook again and again.

Mysore bhaji

Ingredients for making Mysore Bhajji

  • 1 cup Maida (all purpose flour)
  • 1 tablespoon(1/4 cup) Rice flour
  • 2 finely chopped Green chillies
  • 8-10 Curry leaves
  • Salt as per taste
  • A pinch of Soda bi-carbonate
  • 1 cup Sour Curd
  • 1/2 inch Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds (Jeera)
  • 1 finely chopped Onion
  • Oil for deep frying

Method for making Mysore Bhajji

  • Grind the onions, green chillies, curry leaves and ginger coarsely.
  • Mix maida, rice flour and curd in a bowl and keep it aside for nearly 30-50 minutes.
  • Combine the onion paste, the above flour mixture, cumin seeds, soda bi-carbonate and salt. Mix well.
  • Now the batter is ready. But the main thing about batter is that it should be thick.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Now, use a spoon to drop the batter in the oil or else we can even use the fingers.
  • Fry the Mysore bhaji till golden brown, on a medium flame.
  • Remove and drain on a kitchen paper.
  • Mysore Bhaji or Mysore Bonda is ready to serve.
  • Serve hot with coconut chutney or any other chutney of your choice.
