How to make Rava Ladoo / Sooji Ladoo – Ingredients, Method

Rava Ladoo also known as sooji ladoo or semolina ladoo. These are specially made during the festivals. They are too lovely and tasty. We have used milk and some nuts to make these ladoo. A flavor of cardamom is given, which makes the ladoo more tastier.

Ingredients for making Rava Ladoo

  • 1 cup Rava (Semolina/Suji)
  • 1/4 cup Ghee
  • 1 tablespoon Milk
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 Cardamom (Elaichi)
  • 8 Cashew nuts (Kaju)

Method for making Rava Ladoo

  • Take a pan. Add rava and roast on a medium flame.
  • Stir continuously till nice aroma comes from it.
  • Put off the gas, cool the mixture and grind to a fine powder.
  • After grinding rava, we have to also grind the sugar with cardamom.
  • Now take a bowl and add both the grinded rava and the powdered sugar.
  • In a tablespoon of ghee, fry the broken cashew nuts and add this to the rava and sugar mixture.
  • Sprinkle the milk and mix thoroughly.
  • Make small balls from this mixture and roll tightly.
  • If you feel the mixture is too dry add little more milk or warm ghee and make balls again.


  • Instead of using Milk you can also use more ghee (see that the quantity of ghee may not increase too much).
  • For better shape of the ladoo, grind rava to a very fine powder.
