Til Chikki Recipe – Ingredients, Method of Making

Til Chikki is usually prepared during the festivals. It tastes awesome and is easy to prepare. We can also make ladoo of these til. Here we have used almonds with til and jaggery, we can also use peanuts instead.

Ingredients for making Til Chikki

  • 1 cup Sesame seeds (Til/Tal)
  • 1 teaspoon Ghee
  • 2/3 cup Jaggery (Gud/Gur)
  • 1 cup Thinly sliced Almonds

For Greasing

  • 1/2 teaspoon Ghee

Method for making Til Ke Chikki

  • Roast the sesame seeds till they turn golden brown color and keep aside.
  • Now roast the almonds in the same way and keep aside.
  • Take a pan. Add ghee and then the jaggery.
  • Saute it over a slow flame till it caramelises.
  • This (caramalising) is seen by adding a drop in cold water, if it forms a hard ball it is perfectly done.
  • Put off the gas and now add the roasted til and almonds to the melted jaggery and mix thoroughly.
  • Grease the plate with ghee and then pour this mixture and roll it into thin sheet with the help of greased rolling pin.
  • Allow it to cool for sometime and then cut into square pieces or any shape of your choice.
